The BIG Event Nets $29,600

The Flour Bluff ISD Foundation for Educational Excellence, Inc., raised $29,600 at their annual fundraiser held March 24, 2007. Approximately two hundred people gathered at the Solomon Ortiz Center for an evening that included a live art auction, a silent auction, food, and jazz music provided by Cross Tide Jazz Ensemble. Patrons were invited to view the art work prior to opening bids, which started at 7:30 p.m. Over 100 pieces of art work were on display from artist such as Buckels, Matisse, Picasso, Chagall and Dali, just to name a few.

Patrons were also invited to participate in a silent auction. Over 50 items were available to bid on including fishing trips, week-end getaways, restaurant coupons, jewelry, games of golf, boxed seats at a Hooks game, and an autographed football by Jim Otto.

The Foundation is a non-profit corporation whose mission is to promote quality education by establishing, supporting and enhancing programs not otherwise funded by the Flour Bluff Independent School District.
