Donor Wall Dedication
The Board of Directors for the Flour Bluff ISD Foundation for Educational Excellence, Inc. hosted a special reception and dedication service in recognition of the Founding Donors of the Education Foundation. The reception was held in the Flour Bluff High School Auditorium on April 2, 2006.
Sandford Perry of Brooke Insurance made a $4,000 donation to sponsor the cost of the Donor Wall. Local artist Dudley Austin was commissioned to design and fabricate the tile design. Foundation members, donors and invited community were treated to punch and cookies during the music interlude provided by Flour Bluff High School students prior to the presentation.
Vivi See, Vice President of Development introduced special guest Brenda Killen, FBHS science teacher and Pam Pailes, FBHS theater arts teacher, recipients of the first round of grants awarded by the Foundation. Both Killen and Pailes spoke high praises to the Foundation and what it mean to them and their students to receive the money to accomplish their projects.
Brenda Killen received $1,080 for a Xplorer GLX Logger lab took and $1,185 for a Science Olympiad Club. Pam Pailes received $3,000 to purchase a UIL set design for her theater group.
The Founding Donors consist of all those who contributed at a level of giving during the Founding Donor Campaign held April 2 - June 2, 2005. A complete list of Founding Donors are available here. Levels of giving included:
