Programs
Superintendent Julie Carbajal and the instructional staff identified funding priorities that were shared with a subcommittee of the Foundation Steering Committee to determine how the priorities could be funded. After careful study and consideration, the subcommittee grouped the needs into three types of grant programs to allow classroom teachers, campuses, and the district instructional staff to apply for funds to implement various grants and initiatives. In addition, the subcommittee identified two future programs to encompass other funding priorities. Initially, the following programs have been identified for funding.
Teacher Instructional Enhancement Grants (up to $1500/Individual Grants or up to $3000/Grade Level or across Curriculum Areas)
These grants provide funds for teachers to develop innovative prigrams which promote student achievement and advance new approaches to teaching. Specific area to be addressed include the following.

- · Cultural Arts/Supplies
- · Technology needs in software
- · Enhancement of the Oceans Program
- · Grade Level or Department Initiatives
- · K-12 Intergration
- Advanced Placement Classes

- · Enhancement to achieve College Credit

- · Enhancement supplies
- · Additional Instruments
- · Scholarship opportunities for high achieving students

Campus Instructional Enhancement Grants (up to $5,000/request)
These enable a campus to identify and address needs, challenges, and concerns unique to the campus. The identified areas will reflect the school's mission, statement of philosophy, and/or campus improvement plan. Examples of funding needs are as follows.

- · Addition of String Instruments
- · Enhancement lessons for high achievding students
- · Featured Conductors and Actors
- Academic Competition
- · Teacher stipends for additional duties
- · Travel support for State or National competitions
- · Enhancement Supplies
- Club Sponsorship

District Instructional Grants (up to $10,000 or as determined by the Foundation Board)
Allows development of enrichment activities/projects to advance student achievement. Specific funding priorities to be addressed include the following.

Future Programs
Student Enrichment Scholarship Grant (up to $1000) is available to students in need of resources to pursue educational activities that may include summer school, extended day programs, workshops and seminars.
Employee Enrichment Grant (up to $500) assist employees who would like to participate in enrichment seminars, workshops or conferences that enhance instructional programs.
Excellence Awards for Teachers (up to $500) provides recognition and a monetary award for excellence in education.
Excellence Awards for Students (up to $500) provides recognition and a monetary award for excellence in education.
